With a distinguished career spanning over 35 years, Ramesh Kana offers a wealth of international expertise across various industries, including oil & gas, chemicals, investment banking, private equity, and accounting.
Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Radstone Capital Partners Limited, a British-Australian Private Equity firm, and as the Managing Director of Radstone’s Malaysian fund - Insha Holdings Berhad, a prominent Shariah-compliant, ESG-focused investment offering, Ramesh possesses a track record of leadership and success in the global financial sector.
Prior to his current roles, Ramesh held the position of Group Chief Executive Officer at Emery Oleochemicals Group, a 180-year-old multinational corporation headquartered in Malaysia, with origins in Cincinnati, USA. Emery Oleochemicals Group is a globally respected leader in commodity and specialty oleochemicals with a manufacturing and distribution presence in North America, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and Malaysia.
Ramesh's career journey also includes his tenure as an Investment Banker with a prestigious Sydney- based corporate finance and advisory firm. Furthermore, he served as the Chairman of an Australian Stock Exchange-listed mining services company and played a pivotal role as a founding Director of AAP Carbon Limited, a specialized carbon emissions reduction project developer headquartered in Johannesburg.
The majority of Ramesh's professional life was dedicated to the Royal Dutch Shell Group, where he held key senior positions in various countries, including Australia, China, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, and Malaysia. Notable accomplishments within Shell include leading a global Mergers & Acquisitions team for the Liquified Petroleum Gas business in London, providing strategic financial leadership, successfully revitalizing distressed business units in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea while stationed in Beijing, and offering senior-level guidance in Finance & IT across 35 countries in the Caribbean & Central America, based in Santo Domingo.
Between 2016 and 2022, Ramesh served as the Chairperson of the United Nations Global Compact Network for Malaysia and Brunei, actively championing issues related to Sustainable Development Goals within the corporate sector. This high-profile role garnered him numerous accolades and established him as a sought-after speaker within the investment community. In 2021, he was appointed to the Strategic Advisory Board of the Global Islamic Impact Investment Forum in London, where he continues to play an active role.
Ramesh holds the esteemed titles of Fellow of the Australian Society of CPAs and Chartered Accountant in Malaysia. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Enterprise & Innovation, both earned from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. He was also honored as a Sir "Weary" Dunlop Asialink Scholar.
